red thread is an emerging mortality work and death care practice dedicated to shifting how we relate to aging, dying and death, supporting and empowering others navigating these sacred transitions and growing compassionate care communities through grief and end of life literacy.

offering death doula services, mortality meditation and pop-up third places, the red thread approach is conversational, contemplative and creative, a stable space from which to seek and stay curious: how do we express and honor what it means and how it feels to be alive? when we consider our impermanence, what becomes knotted in the noticing, clear in the unraveling? what weaves through our lives and holds it all together? what still and always connects us?

nicole faust is a death worker, griever and helper based in Chicago. she works with humans, animals and families navigating end of life. in cooperation with fellow death workers, she creates conversation around death, loss, remembrance and change. her practice is inspired and supported by Maybellene, Zen Buddhism and caregivers everywhere.
